Frequently Asked Questions

About the Clinic & Practitioner

  1. Who will carry out my treatment?
All consultations and treatments are performed personally by Karen Kelly, Independent Nurse Prescriber with almost 30 years of nursing experience and over 12 years in aesthetics.
  2. What is Karen’s clinical background?
Karen qualified as a Registered Nurse in 2000, working in cardiac, trauma, respiratory and neurosurgical settings before becoming a Critical Care Sister for 20 years.
She holds a BSc in Nursing & Human Sciences and an MSc in Advanced Clinical Practice.
Her strong NHS background and advanced clinical training underpin the clinic’s focus on patient safety and evidence-based care.
  3. Where are you based?
Radiant Facial Rejuvenation has clinics in Ringmer and Heathfield, serving clients from London, Essex, Kent and Sussex.
  4. Are you accredited?
Yes. We are accredited by Save Face, the Joint Council for Cosmetic Practitioners (JCCP) and the Aesthetics Complications Expert Group (ACE).
  5. What does Save Face accreditation mean?
Save Face is a Government-recognised register. Accreditation confirms our clinic has passed a rigorous 116-point inspection covering practitioner qualifications, product sourcing, environment and safety protocols.

Patient Safety

  1. How do you ensure treatments are safe?
We use only genuine, licensed products from reputable pharmacies, follow robust consent and aftercare procedures, and maintain a 24/7 helpline for clients.
  2. What happens if there’s a complication?
You’ll receive clear aftercare instructions and can contact us any time. We have established emergency protocols and collaborate with a local Plastic Surgeon for additional support if required.
  3. Are aesthetic treatments risk-free?
No medical procedure is risk-free, but with careful consultation, skilled injection technique and strict hygiene standards, risks are minimised.
  4. Do you treat people who are pregnant or breastfeeding?
No. Botox, dermal fillers and other injectable treatments are not suitable during pregnancy or breastfeeding.

Consultations & Booking

  1. Do you charge for consultations?
No. Consultations are free and without obligation so we can fully assess your needs before any treatment.
  2. What happens at the consultation?
We take a full medical history, discuss your goals and expectations, explain treatment options and answer your questions. Only if treatment is clinically appropriate will we proceed.
  3. Can you refuse treatment?
Yes. If a treatment isn’t in your best interest—because of medical reasons, unrealistic expectations or concerns such as body dysmorphic disorder—we will not treat.
  4. How do I book an appointment?
You can book via our website contact form or by phone. We’ll arrange a convenient time at one of our clinics.

Treatments

  1. What is Botox and how long does it last?
Botox is a prescription-only medicine that relaxes targeted facial muscles to soften lines and wrinkles. Results usually last 8–12 weeks.
  2. Who can prescribe and administer Botox?
In the UK it must be prescribed by a doctor, dentist, nurse prescriber or prescribing pharmacist after a face-to-face assessment.
  3. What are dermal fillers and how long do they last?
Fillers are hyaluronic-acid gels that restore volume or enhance features such as lips, cheeks and jawline. Results typically last 6–18 months, depending on product and area treated.
  4. Are dermal fillers prescription-only?
Currently in the UK they are not prescription-only, which is why choosing an accredited medical practitioner is so important.
  5. Do you create personalised skincare plans?
Yes. We partner with Get Harley to provide free bespoke skincare plans and ongoing product advice, with free home delivery.
  6. Do you have independent reviews?

Yes. We are proud to have received over 100 five-star reviews on Trustpilot in less than two years.

Aftercare & Results

  1. What aftercare will I receive?
You’ll be given written aftercare instructions and have access to our 24/7 helpline. Follow-up reviews are arranged where appropriate.
  2. How soon will I see results?
Many treatments show an immediate or early improvement. For example, Botox begins to work within a few days with full effect at about two weeks; fillers show instant volume; medical-grade skincare improves skin health over weeks to months.
