Filler Dissolving
Elective dermal filler dissolving is the planned removal of hyaluronic acid dermal filler using hyaluronidase, an enzyme that breaks down hyaluronic acid. This may be chosen where filler is no longer wanted, has migrated, become uneven, or where the area is being reset before future treatment. A consultation is required prior to treatment.
Hyaluronidase is injected into the area to be treated, where it breaks down the hyaluronic acid within the existing dermal filler, allowing the body to gradually clear it. It can be used to dissolve filler partially or fully, depending on the desired outcome.
Treatment usually takes 60 minutes, depending on the amount and location of filler being dissolved.
There is little to no downtime, and most patients return to normal daily activities on the same day.
Results are visible immediately after treatment, with the area continuing to settle over the following few days.
